Herbal Infused Oils:
Nature is magical and offers us solutions as long as we know how to use what she gives us. That’s the driving force behind the herb-infused oils we create.
We use cold-pressed organic oils like avocado, olive, almond, and coconut oils. Every herb we use is organic and sourced from U.S. based co-ops.
Infusing our oils is a long process in which we dedicate our time, patience and love of all things natural. The herbs (whether combined or standalone) are infused in a single oil and kept away from direct light sources for around 40 days. Each day the mixture is delicately moved around, all the while absorbing the healing properties of each herb.
Some of the herbs we use are: Calendula, Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Thyme, Clove, Lavender, Rosemary, Nettle, and Rosehip among others.
Every product we formulate aims to not only heal us on the outside, our hair and skin, but also our souls because we believe that the herbs we use, provide us all with positive energy as well.
An Herbal Tincture is a concentrated liquid form of one or more herbs. Our tinctures are made by soaking the bark, berries, leaves (dried or fresh), or roots from one or more plants in Vodka, Pisco, or Aguardiente and kept away from direct light sources for around 40 days. Each day the mixture is delicately moved around, all the while absorbing the healing properties of each herb.
The soaking process extracts the active components of the herb or herbs. Alcohol can extract components, such as resins and alkaloids, that are not water-soluble.
Some of the herbs we use are: Chamomile, Calendula, Lavender, Thyme, Eucalyptus, Borage, Nettle, Mugwort, Dandelion, Lemon Balm leaf, Sage, Rosemary.
Tinctures have been around for millennia and are a key component of traditional herbal medicine.
Water: Rosewater or spring water.
Emulsifiers: BTMS: Despite the way the name looks, it is actually derived from a plant. It is a plant-based emulsifying wax that is naturally derived from Colza or Rapeseed oil. Montanov 68: is a non-ionic emulsifier with plant origin. We use them only if we have formulas that use water and oil.
Preservatives: Vitamin E (we use it in all our formulations), Cosgard (Ecocert certified), and Leucidal. We use them only if there is water in our products.
Surfactants: Coco-Glucoside and Decyl Glucoside: have a vegetable origin (coconut/palm kernel oil, glucose) and are cleansing agents that gives moderate to high stable foam. They are also biodegradable and mild to the skin.
Essential oils: Rose infused in jojoba oil and Geranium.
Lactic Acid: We use it only as a pH adjuster for our Hair Line.
Xhantam Gum: is a very mild plant-based thickening and stabilizing agent used Only for our Shampoos.
